• BASIC AFTERCARE

    1. REMOVE YOUR BANDAGE/WRAP.

Within 4 hours from the end of your appointment.

    2. CLEANSE THE TATTOO.

Gently wash the tattoo with a gentle unscented soap. Use your hands and avoid scrubbing the tattoo with a towel, luffa, or your nails. Rinse it well with water and pat dry with a clean paper towel.

    3. KEEP YOUR TATTOO CLEAN AND DRY.

For the first 4-5 days your tattoo is technically an open wound. Cleanse it 2-3 times a day, especially if it comes into contact with dirt or sweat.

    4. KEEP YOUR TATTOO MOSTURIZED.

After about 4-5 days, your tattoo might start feeling tight and itchy. Start incorporating an unscented, gentle moisturizer at this time. After cleansing your tattoo and patting it dry, apply a thin layer of moisturizer.

    5. REPEAT STEP 3 + 4 UNTIL FULLY HEALED.

You tattoo will be fully healed in three weeks from the day of your appointment. (21 days)

    SECOND SKIN/ SANIDERM

    1. LEAVE YOUR BANDAGE ON FOR 48 HOURS.

Unless otherwise advised. While the bandage is water resistant, water exposure will compromise the seal and the bandage may fall off before you want it to.

    2. MONITOR FOR AN ALLERGIC REACTION or LEAKAGE.

If you see any excessive redness under the bandage, or experience discomfort, remove the bandage immediately. If the tattoo becomes exposed, or any fluid leaks out, remove the bandage immediately.

    3. TO REMOVE YOUR BANDAGE:

I recommend doing so GENTLY in the shower under warm water and soap. Gently and slowly pull the bandage parallel to the skin.

DO NOT rip it off like a Band-Aid

    4. CLEANSE AND MOISTURIZE AS NORMAL.

    5. REPEAT STEP FOUR UNTIL FULLY HEALED

THREE WEEKS (21 days) from the day of your appointment

    GENERAL TIPS

    • Limit heavy exercise for the first week of having your fresh tattoo. If you workout to a sweat, ensure you wash your tattoo as soon as possible. If your tattoo sits on a flex point (elbow, knee, etc) avoid stretching it as much as you can during the healing period.

    • Avoid your tattoo coming into contact with Pets

    • Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo - to alleviate itching during healing you can give it light slaps. As satisfying as it is to pick scabs, please don’t.

    • NO Swimming, NO Hot Tubs, NO Beach, NO Saunas, NO Bathing or soaking your tattoo during the healing period.

    • Avoid Sun and UV exposure on your fresh tattoo. Do not apply Sunscreen to a fresh tattoo, you must physically cover it with clothing or a bandage if you plan on being under the sun for extended periods of time.

    • I recommend changing bed sheets and wearing fresh clothes from the first night of your new tattoo. Especially if you sleep with pets.

    • Keep your skin hydrated with lotion for several days leading up to your appointment, this allows for a better heal and easier application of the tattoo.

    • Eat a meal within 2 hours of your appointment. Not eating increases your risk of fainting during the appointment. Drinking water and a good nights rest are beneficial as well, take care of yourself!

    • Bring water, snacks, phone charger, and entertainment, especially for long appointments. I have water, small snacks, and electrical outlets available for you at the studio.

    • Bring comfortable clothing that you don’t mind possibly getting dirty. (My machine sometimes splatters ink) Or live dangerously and wear an all white outfit, I can’t stop you.

    • DO NOT come to your appointment intoxicated. I always reserve the right to refuse clients if they arrive to their appointments in a state where I would not feel comfortable or deem it safe to tattoo you.

    • Please DO NOT arrive to your appointment with any acute skin issue (ie: sunburn, cuts, lesions, etc) I will not be able to tattoo your skin if any severe condition present that prevents me from doing so. If you have any concerns or questions about this, please send me an email BEFORE your appointment and we can discuss how to proceed. (Scars are not included in this, please see me FAQ for more info)

  • I currently work out of “The Very Good Tattoo Company” which is a small private studio located at 3050 Portage Ave, R3K 0Y1. Winnipeg MB

There is a small parking lot in front of the studio where you can park for free. Parking is also available along the side residential streets.

The studio is accessible for wheelchair users from the front parking lot.

  • All appointments require a Deposit to secure your design as well as your appointment date.

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. The cost of the deposit will be deducted from the final cost of your tattoo, for larger projects it is deducted from your final session.

Deposits may be forfeit if you cancel last minute or no-show your appointment. If this happens you may be required to put down a second deposit or be blacklisted from my client list.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please let me know at least 48 hours in advance so that I have time to fill the vacant slot.

If you are running late for your appointment please try your best to let me know via email. If you are more than 45 minutes late for your appointment without notice I will consider it cancelled.

Please understand that I am strict with deposits because if an appointment is missed, I go without making a living. I will do my best to be understanding if there is an extreme situation, deposits are always reviewed on a case by case basis.
